My Story

I started The Tonbridge Candle Co. in March 2021, after being made redundant from working in the charity sector. I’d worked managing prison and community drug services after a period of working as a police officer for over twenty years.  I have a love of dogs, candles and know how powerful scent can be.  I was surprised by how many candles emit nasty things into our homes due to the type of wax and fragrances used. So I have created a range of candles that are all 100% Soy wax, which is from a sustainable source and is biodegradable. The benefit of soy wax is it has a much slower burn so lasts longer. It emits little or no smoke and there are no nasty chemicals. To create the scents I only use essential oils again all are vegan and cruelty free. Essential oils have an impact on mood and how you feel as well as giving off glorious scents. I also only use cotton wicks so no lead in them and they  create an even burn. The power of scent is remarkable so I’ve created a range to help support the mind as well as triggering memories and positive emotions. I source the jars locally and use amber apothecary jars which create a glorious amber glow. All come with lids to keep candles dust free and clarity of scent.  All are hand poured and are allowed to cure for at least a week before they are sent out. Covid has been tough for everyone so this small company is my little piece of something positive from a difficult situation. I love all the photos and positive reviews my customers have given me so far.
